Bio

Chris Collat - Put the words, "Red Hot" before you pronounce his last name and you will get it right every time. He is a soulful singer, guitarist, and songwriter who has been writing music since picking up the guitar  at the early age of five. His gentle nature and soft spoken demeanor are a striking contrast to the performer who often leaves his audience surprised at the power and soul he conveys on stage.

He has spent many years performing and collaborating with talented musicians in the Washington DC area. While being involved in various bands over the years, the band that stands out the most was his latest project, the Chris Collat Band (CCB). They shook the stage with funk and kept the crowd on their toes playing at prestigious stages in the DC area, including the 9:30 Club, The Fillmore Silver Spring, Jammin Java, and IOTA Club and Cafe; and introducing the crowd  to Chris’ original songs. The music scene now saw Chris as a reason to stop, watch, and listen.

Chris is also a family man with two kids and wife at home.  In early 2012, while taking time away from the band to be with his new daughter and get some much needed sleep, Chris  had the opportunity to work in the studio with Andrew at Andrews House in Haymarket, VA. Andrew found that element of surprise in one of Chris's tracks called, "Never Untrue'", and offered to record it. That one song grew to 15, showcasing Chris’ impressive emotional and musical range. From smooth road to rocky terrain, Chris is thrilled to share his story and his journey, in his debut album The Road Home.
